I had met with a severe dissapointment, and was just in the mood to prefer solitude to society. Here, then, I selected my grant of four square miles, having found a fertile ridge, of which my boundaries enclosed a length of three miles. I got a n assignment of 15 or 16 convicts and set to work with them to subdue the earth.
